The features contained within this layer are intended to be used as a visual representation for locating authorized sand placement areas associated with issued Joint Coastal Beach Nourishment Permits throughout the State of Florida. This layer was created for Department staff and other related parties usage.
<DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><DIV STYLE="font-size:12pt"><P><SPAN>These line features have been established in an effort to identify areas of the state in which Joint Coastal Permitting (JCP) Issued Beach Nourishment permits have been issued. Specifically, the line features represent approximate bounds on Florida's beaches in which sand placement is authorized through individual JCP Permits and (or) modifications. This effort is ongoing, and related information is periodically updated. Information contained within this dataset should not be used for any surveying, engineering, legal determinations or calculations. The information used to determine the line feature extents was obtained from the Final Order JCP Permits issued.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>On April 2020 the layer was transformed from HARN to NAD83_2011</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV></DIV>

This layer was taken down from SDE as substantial updates were needed.
Features were added to this layer from individual JCP Permit Final Order documents.
Statewide update of the Coastal JCP Beach Nourishment Permit layer. This layer was taken down from SDE due to inaccuracies and updated in Winter / Spring of 2024. Some field names were changed, and many new line features were added to the dataset. These updated features reflect all currently active, superceded, and expired JCP permits which authorize sand placement on beach project areas in Florida. Several new fields were added including Authorization #, SUFFIX, and PLACEMENT_TYPE, and PLACEMENT_AREA_STATUS. A total of 139 new line features were added to the dataset.
